It is a great deal to work with molecular biology research. However, the standardization of your protocols are very essential for any experiments you perform. The major trouble in molecular biology is unstandardized protocols.
Itsn't that easy to get the things standardized when working with a wide range of samples.
In a case where I work with different type of sample for molecular identification or ribotyping. It might be a bacterial culture of animal tissue or even plants. The same protocol may not work for the three. How to deal with such variant samples is bit toublesome. One has to see that the cell lysis and DNA euting is proper to get a maximum yield. One must also consider suitable purification starategy depending on the contamination rate. Its a thumb of rule that more you purify, the less yield of DNA you get.
Other trouble might be from the molecular biology reagents. Most of the procss are pH sensitive and deviate you form expected results. One has to use clean and sterile vials for performing molecular biology exeriments. " Sterilization" is a must to reduce the level of contamintion. Pipetting error is another source of trouble here. Calibrated pipettes are very essential for the Mol Bio Epxeriments.
